因为是他的激情演讲,我尝试着翻译得激情一些.还有这个不是竞选演讲,而是他就任德国总理后在柏林的就职演讲.
We shall not lie and we shall not cheat
我们鄙弃谎言和欺诈
I have therefore steadfastly declined to come before the people with cheap promises
因此,我坚决不会在人民面前轻率地承诺
In our own hands,in our hands alone,lies the destiny of the German people!
但我想说的是,我们德国人民的未来,不由其他任何人掌握,只会由我们自己去创造!
Only if we raise our German people through their own labor,their own industry,their own determination and daring,and their own perseverance,only then will we rise again!
我们要通过辛勤的劳作,通过各行业的蓬勃发展,通过我们人民的决心、勇气和毅力来滋润自己,武装自己,只有这样,我们才能够再次崛起!
In days gone by our fathers,too,they have not received Germany as a gift,but created it themselves!
不要忘记,德国,这个国家从来不是来自他人的施舍,而正是我们的先辈靠着自己的力量建立起来的啊!
People of Germany,give me four years,and--I swear to you--as true as I have accepted this office,so shall I leave it then.
